[sample pages] Good Looking in the Dark weaves one story across three formats: prose, playwriting, and comics. It’s a “dark” comedy about two strangers–an artist and a librarian–who meet in a closet on Halloween. The artist interprets their conversation through Chagall-esque imagery. The librarian thinks in reference materials. This project was nominated for the 2017 National Dissertation Award. It did not win.
